Honda Civic Type R (EP3)
Following on from 2 successful seasons in the Junior Saloon Car Championship, we decided to upgrade and make the move to an adult series in a much more powerful car. After looking at the different options, we settled on the Type R Throphy using a modified Honda Civic EP3
The Championship
The Tegiwa Type R Trophy
This is a full on, serious and competitive series using a single make and model race car which is heavily controlled for the closest racing. The championship is ran by the 750 Motorclub and competes at flagship circuits including Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Donington and Croft.
The Training

Adam enjoyed a few of the meetings at the under 17 car club, which worked well for increasing his skills and putting some structure to the learning. We bought a road version of the race car to make it as similar as possible so the skills gained worked for him. Unfortunately we weren't able to continue this as some of the methods didn't lend themselves well to children on the autistic spectrum; however we did find the club to be well organised and we enjoyed some good days out.
